Hi MTAS Members,
We are re opening our Musson Lane Gallery on Saturdays starting 4th July.
The current display has been shown on Facebook, Instagram and on our web site. Those works can remain at no extra hanging fee or you can change them for $2 per painting or $5 per craft selection.
We will change over all of the paintings and craft displays on 8th August so that there is a new look on Saturday 29th August when we re-open after our Marketplace exhibition. (That display will remain until Oct 17th before our School of Arts ”Spring Affair” exhibition.) You can also change over your work on an Open Day Wednesday (15th July or 5th August).
We will naturally follow COVID19 safe protocols and have hand sanitiser available and a sign-in book; name, ph no, for all visitors. We have a large table seating area to ensure safe distancing.
Members are asked to volunteer some roster time each Saturday from 10am – 1pm or 1pm – 4pm to help the in-charge person.
Exhibiting artists are requested to volunteer 2 times on any of the following Saturdays. At the moment the Roster is quite empty so please put your hand up and join in:
This Saturday July 4th, 11th, 25th
August 1st, 8th, 22nd & 29th. (closed 15th for Marketplace)
You will be there to meet & greet, encourage sales, advertise MTAS activities.
We have a lovely kitchen so you can BYO lunch.
Contact Sheila 0408 161 284 or email@example.com with inquiries or to volunteer on the roster!
Musson Lane Gallery will reopen on Saturday, 4th July
10am to 4pm with COVID safe practices in place

Vale Dr Mary Bergin
It is with great sadness we acknowledge the passing on Monday afternoon of our dear patron Dr Mary Bergin from leukemia. Mary has been a wonderful support for our Society for many years and a well respected member of our local community. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Alan, family and friends.
MTAS Gallery at Musson Lane Update
As you know, our MTAS Gallery at Musson Lane, which was open every Saturday, is currently closed until further notice due to the COVID 19 restrictions. The planned April 18th changeover will not happen.
Art and craft currently on display can remain until Saturday July 4th .
The fees that you have paid will cover you until then. (Hopefully the world will have returned to normal by then.)
If anyone would prefer to collect their art or craft prior to that, please contact a key holder – Sheila ph 0408161284 or Patty Bakarich 0415200446 (or other Committee member) to arrange a time when we can meet you to open up the building and mark the works off on the list.
Meanwhile your work will be safe, secure (and dusted) until we can open to the public again, when we will again ask for people to help on the Roster.
We are also looking at taking photographs of the works and posting them onto our site, Facebook and Instragram accounts to keep MTAS active as best we can during this time. We are looking at watermarking the artists work so that will cover any copyright issues. Stay tuned!
Keep safe and well everyone and stay creative.
No doubt you are all aware of the rapidly changing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a consequence of the stronger message from the Government and the Department of Health in trying to contain the spread of the disease, the committee have, sadly, decided to cancel upcoming events in the interests of your well-being and that of our community.
Wednesday Open Days at Musson Lane will not be scheduled after this week until further notice. The Saturday Gallery, which we had just started to get going, will be closed, effective from today until further notice. Our demonstrations for April and May are cancelled, although we have been fortunate to re-book Taryn Malzard for the July meeting – hopefully the world will have righted itself sufficiently by then!
The Children’s After School classes will not be held from next week and the Easter School Holiday Workshops are cancelled. Life Drawing and Portrait groups are cancelled for April.
Saddest perhaps of all we are cancelling our Autumn exhibition. We will instead make the Spring Affair exhibition a members award event.
I’m very sorry that we are taking this route but the committee feel a duty of care that demands these measures in the interests of yourselves and the community. We will try and keep the online presence active and interesting. If you have any contributions to make – stories, pictures of the work you would otherwise have entered into the Autumn exhibition, send them in to firstname.lastname@example.org
We will monitor the situation and advice of any further changes.
Keep safe and well.
Kym Morris (President) and the MTAS committee.
Due to weather conditions with rain, flooding, bridge closures and power outages in our Hawkesbury region and across Sydney, we will be cancelling the MTAS Demonstration Meeting for 11th Feb tomorrow.
We hope all are staying safe and to see you at our next monthly meeting on 10th March.
We will reschedule for artist Julieanne Allcorn to come at a later meeting in the year so that we don’t miss seeing her interesting and beautiful works.
