MTAS Monthly Demonstration Meeting Sally Thompson – 11th October 2022 ‘Florals in Acrylic’ – Will go ahead
Hello All, the meeting for tonight will proceed. We seem to have been lucky, the rain has held off and the waters are not rising at the moment. The Bridges are open and we have decided to proceed with tonight’s Meeting and Demonstration.
We’re excited to welcome Sally Thompson to demonstrate ‘Florals in Acrylic’ tomorrow, 11th October, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.
Please register your attendance by email to info [@] mtas.com.au .

About Sally Thompson:
Sally Thompson is known for her ability to see what the eye may miss at first glance. Sally provides us with glimpses of what we are missing, the chorus line she calls it, while we focus on the star.
In her day-to-day life, Sally builds systems and manages sophisticated budgets as a finance officer and web developer. She is also a competitive ballroom dancer and has learned complex choreography in a variety of styles.
Not surprisingly, Sally brought the devil in the detail to her creativity and exploits the colour and the structure of interlocking shapes to bring a fresh perspective to the movement and colour that nature presents.
For Sally, it’s the music and the chorus line that take equal centre stage as the prima donna and soloist and her work takes the viewer on the dance of a lifetime.

Musson Lane Gallery June Feature Artist – Catherine Laws
We are very pleased to have Catherine Laws as our Feature Artist at Musson Lane Gallery for the month of June.
Catherine is an award winning artist known for her detailed drawings that capture expression and realism.
Her ancestors were all Hawkesbury residents — her mother a local of Kurrajong, and her father of Londonderry. She has lived in Bowen Mountain her whole life, and is a singing & piano teacher.
Self taught as a child, Catherine loved nothing more than to draw her personal scrap book, but it wasn’t until her early thirties that she particiapted in many drawig classes which led to undertaking botanical art classes for several years.
She has undertaken multiple commisssions, mostly pet portraits for loving owners. The medium she uses are graphite, polychromos, watercolour and acrylics.
She currently has just commenced acrylic painting lessons and thoroughly enjoys urban sketching, her latest project being sketching the historic buildings of the Hawkesbury.
Come and visit to view Catherine’s beautiful array of artworks this Saturday, 11th June from 10am-4pm. Social distancing and Covid safe practices are in place at our Gallery.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
