Musson Lane Gallery Open
This Saturday, 12th November 2022
From 10am – 4pm

Visit our Musson Lane Gallery this Saturday, 12th November 2022 from 10am-4pm and save up to 10% on original artwork made by our local artists and artisans!

We are having our Christmas & Moving Sale so there are lots of arts and crafts you can buy for yourself or give as presents to your loved ones this holiday season. We have original paintings, bags, cushions, jewellery, resin works, pottery and many more.

Our feature artist for this month is Sheila Sharp and we have over 100 works from our members. You can also meet some of the artists on duty and join in with your local art community!

As we are moving by 7th December, there will also be furniture, books, crockery, art materials and more available for sale at reasonable prices to members and guests.

Entry is FREE.

The remaining dates the Musson Lane Gallery will be open before we move are as follows.
Saturdays: November 12th, 19th, 26th & December 3rd 
Wednesday: November 16th

MTAS Art Group Open Day
Wednesday, 2nd November 2022
From 10am – 4pm

Our next Art Group Open Day is on Wednesday, 2nd November from 10am to 4pm.

Come enjoy the company of fellow art enthusiasts, and bring a project, art, craft, or any hobby. You can watch or paint along with our DVD collection as well.

Members and guests are welcome. Please bring your own food. We have tea, coffee, etc an oven and a microwave in our kitchen. Our next Open Day is on the 16th of November 2022. 

In preparation for our move in December, we also have books and art materials we are selling for reasonable prices. You can purchase these when you come to our Open Day or Gallery Open on Saturdays.

Musson Lane Gallery Open

Visit us at the Musson Lane Gallery this Saturday, 22nd October 2022 from 10am-4pm.

Our feature artist for this month is Josephine Blue and we have over 100 works from our members.

We are selling some of our books and art materials for reasonable prices. Buy them for yourself or give them as gifts to your friends and family.

In addition this weekend we have our “Spring Affair” Exhibition on Saturday, 22nd and Sunday, 23rd October from 10am to 4pm at the Richmond School of Arts, Murray Wing, March Street, Richmond. Opening night is Friday, 21st October at 7.30pm. All Free Entry.

Come and see over 130 artworks from popular local artists, such as John Shields, Gloria Galvin, Yvonne West, Jeanette Starr, Deidre Morrison, Kym Morris, Mark Wilson, Maryanne Jones, and many more. All artworks will be for sale. 

Various handmade crafts, jewellery, resin works, pottery, and handmade cards will also be on sale.

This is a great opportunity to appreciate some local creativity and you can also meet some of the artists on duty and join in with your local art community.

As most of you already know we will need to vacate our Musson Lane venue by December.

In preparation for our move, we have books and art materials we are selling for reasonable prices to members and guests. You can buy them for yourself or give them as gifts to your friends and family.

You can purchase at our Musson Lane Gallery open every Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

We are still looking for a new premises to have our Gallery and store the materials and equipment that we use for exhibitions and workshops.

October Feature Artist – Josephine Blue

We are very pleased to show Josephine Blue as our feature artist at Musson Lane Gallery for the month of October. 

Josephine grew up in an arty family. After high school, she completed a BA at the University of Sydney, majoring in Fine Arts and Education which led her to primary teaching.

Becoming a full-time Mum gave her the opportunity to dabble in art as a hobby. In 1990, they moved to the Hawkesbury where she enrolled in evening courses at TAFE for over 10 years, learning Drawing, Fine Arts, Photography and Ceramics.

She almost finished Fabric Design and Printing but a job teaching art in high school took precedence.

Working as a sales consultant for an art supply company gave Josephine access to new art materials and the opportunity to run art workshops. When she opened Blue Gallery in Richmond, she gave art photography lessons and taught photography at the Hawkesbury Community College.

As President of Hawkesbury Camera Club, she began the “Photos for Children” Competition, where members annually provide photos for the Children’s Ward of Hawkesbury Hospital.

While a member of Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop, she has developed her own style of art using oil pastels and is currently studying for a Diploma in Art Therapy.

She also enjoys singing in Chorella choir and playing cello in Macquarie Towns Orchestra. She has been working on a series of paintings inspired by photos as well. 

In 2011, Josephine took in Monet’s garden in France and is excited and thankful to be exhibiting them here.
