About Carol Gill:

Carol began her art career as a Graphic Designer spending her early years in advertising. Developing her art practise in this era meant the icons of the 70s-80s like Brett Whitely, Ken Done and Jenny Kee also heavily influenced her art.

In later years she rediscovered her art through further study and workshops where she was introduced to mixed media and collage by Judith White.

Carol uses a wide range of traditional Korean mulberry papers or “hanji”, tissue papers, water colours and gouache and loves the way they respond and react with one another.

She’s captivated by the textures and organic materials of the hanji papers and their relationship to the natural landscape from which they have been sourced. She enjoys bringing the beautifully delicate yet strong qualities of hanji to a very contemporary Australian theme.

Monthly Demonstration, 14th July
Taryn Malzard – Pastel Painting

Our Demonstration Meetings are back!
However, the format is changing for this month to an online delivery broadcast from Musson Lane.

We will welcome Taryn Malzard to demonstrate Pastels on Tuesday, 14th July 7:30pm.

To ensure everyone’s safety and for social distancing measures, the monthly demonstration meeting will be delivered via Zoom and Youtube live stream so that members can watch online. The committee will be present at the location as the audience because we have our committee meeting before hand and due to restrictions we do not have enough space for distancing and members to all attend physically.

Links to the Zoom and Youtube channel will be sent around soon.

Taryn’s pastel works are known for their vitality and realism. She loves capturing a subject’s character and personality, creating beautiful artworks that show life on their own. Taryn also teaches regular term and workshop classes to experienced artists and beginners.
