About Jeff Eyles:
Jeff has always been an artist at heart, spending countless happy weekends creating art while balancing a professional career. After retiring, he undertook formal training at TAFE, allowing him to immerse himself more fully in his artistic journey.
Working primarily in watercolour and oils, Jeff also explores linocut printmaking and etching. A keen en plein air painter, he enjoys working outdoors—capturing scenes directly from nature and urban landscapes—a skill he has refined over many years.
He is especially drawn to the play of light and shadow in his subjects. The focus of his art lies in the illumination that brings each scene to life, as well as the memories and impressions gathered from his many travels. Jeff strives to create artworks that are visually exquisite and is particularly fulfilled when a viewer finds something moving and beautiful in his work.
Jeff is a committed member of the Macquarie Towns Arts Society and was a category prize winner in both 2020 and 2021. Based in the Nepean District of Sydney, at the base of the Blue Mountains, he also serves as Secretary of the Nepean Art Society.
He exhibits regularly with MTAS, Nepean, and other art societies, as well as in group and solo exhibitions throughout Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. His work is held in private collections in Australia, England, and the United States.
Jeff’s artworks are available at Cobbitty Gallery and online via Bluethumb.
