Reminder: MTAS Annual General Meeting & Derivan Liquid Pencil Interactive Demo with Deidre Morrison

Reminding everyone that our Annual General Meeting will be held tomorrow, 10th September, at 7:30pm at the Deerubbin Centre, Windsor. The meeting will be followed by an Interactive Demonstration run by Deidre Morrison using Derivan Liquid Pencil.

The art supplies company Derivan will be providing us with some samples of Liquid Pencil, and we’ll be giving some away to members. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to experience the product firsthand, known for its versatility and unique application.

Both members and non members are welcome to our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.

This meeting is free to attend. Tea, coffee & supper will be supplied.

Please remember to park outside the car park as it closes early.

We want MTAS to continue into the future so please consider joining the committee.

Come along to our AGM to form a quorum and vote even if you are not nominating for a role. It is always good to hear our Annual Reports and support your Society.

If you feel you could assist with Committee in any capacity big or small we always welcome more helping hands. It is a great experience helping a local community group that has been in operation for over 65 years in the Hawkesbury.

REMEMBER we also need members present to vote!

MTAS Membership is due!

For members who haven’t renewed their membership, please send through your renewals as soon as possible!

To renew, please print & complete our membership form: MTAS Membership Form PDF

There are two x A5 forms on the A4 page PDF for printing – one for you and one for a friend or for next year! (This is to try to help your printer to behave for the print out)

Every member needs to fill out a new form with their membership each year.

Membership allows you to exhibit with us, come to our monthly meetings, join in with our workshops and activities for the Member’s prices, and receive our Monthly newsletter. You can enjoy the company of like-minded artists and craftspeople and release your creativity!

You can return your form with fee to:

  • P.O. BOX 1058, RICHMOND NSW 2753
  • Scan your filled-out form and email then EFT Bank Transfer the funds to MTAS
  • in-person to a Committee Member at a meeting
  • in person at Richmond Art Supplies, Shop 1, 328 Windsor St Richmond
  • (online renewal is currently not available but maybe soon)

The Next MTAS Portrait Group is on Saturday, 14th Sept 2024

From 1pm – 4pm

We will have our next portrait group with a live model on Saturday, 14th September 2024.

The Portrait Group is held every second Saturday of the month from 1pm – 4pm at the Richmond Art Supplies Shop 1, 328 Windsor St, Richmond.

Cost is $15.00. If anyone would like to come along please text or call Deidre on 0412 979 731.

Model, easels & afternoon tea provided.
BYO Painting/Drawing materials.

We also need a model each month, so if anyone is interested in sitting for a portrait (fully clothed) or would like to suggest a sitter, please phone Deidre on 0412 979 731.

Our fabulous Annual “Spring Affair” Exhibition will be on 18th – 20th October from 10am to 4pm at the Richmond School of Arts, Murray Wing, March Street, Richmond. 

Your Entry forms are below and need to be received with payment by Tuesday, 1st October 2024, so make sure you submit your entries as soon as possible!

MTAS Art Group – Wednesday, 4th September 2024

Hawkesbury Showground
10am – 4pm

Our next Art Group will be on Wednesday, 4th September 2024 from 10am to 4pm at the Horse Judges Hut, Hawkesbury Showground, Clarendon.

Come enjoy the company of fellow art enthusiasts, and bring a project, art, craft, or any hobby.

Members and guests are welcome. Please bring your own food. We supply tea and coffee.

Our next Art Group dates will be on 18th September, 2nd & 16th October 2024.

To get to the Horse Judges Hut at the Hawkesbury Showground you can enter by Gate 4 (the carpark gate) and drive in taking the 3rd road on the right to take you to the far side of the show ring. The hut is a separate building on the right with some gravel parking. It has a shady verandah with chairs and nearby toilets.

Inside there is air conditioning, fridge, sink, kettle, microwave, tables and chairs.
The HDAA are kindly allowing us to attend for $2 per person.

MTAS Members and Non Members are welcome.

The Richmond Marketplace Exhibition Starts Tomorrow!

Richmond Marketplace Exhibition
15th – 18th August 2024

Our popular exhibition of small to medium works at the Richmond Marketplace starts tomorrow, Thursday, 15th August, and will run until Sunday, 18th August 2024.

The event will be held at Richmond Marketplace, located at 64 March Street, Richmond, NSW 2753. You’ll find a great mix of artwork, from contemporary pieces to traditional styles, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
