Monthly Demonstration Meeting
Tuesday, 9th March – Virginia Wheatley – Earth Pastels
We are looking forward to Virginia Wheatley demonstrating Earth Pastels on Tuesday, 9th March, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio at 300 George st Windsor.
Come along or join us online on zoom to see Virginia’s beautiful work being demonstrated.
Virginia will demonstrate the making and use of earth pastels combined with charcoal (as taught by Greg Hansell). The process will show you the procedure from a chunk of earth to the creation of a pastel stick and a completed artwork.
No binders or chemicals are used in the making of earth pastels. They are completely natural and non-toxic. See how to “roll your own”. Also learn how to combine your normally discarded pieces of commercial pastels into lovely new pastel sticks in a range of subtle greys.
This demonstration will also give you a new appreciation of the range of commercial pastels that are available, and also of the skill and mastery of Greg Hansell’s earth pastel artworks.
About Virginia Wheatley:
Virginia Wheatley works using different medium and styles. Her studio, Blue Toucan Art is located in Kurrajong village, where she enjoys the peaceful and amazing views of the Kurrajong foothills.
Her paintings can be found around Australia and abroad, and is a regular exhibitor at the Macquarie Towns Art Society.
