About Stephen Travers:
Stephen was initially inspired to pursue art when his daughter’s year 12 major work won a year’s scholarship at the Julian Ashton Art School, an urge that he had until then subdued every day for 25 years.

Upon completion of introductory TAFE Cert IV Fine Arts subjects in drawing and painting in 2006 and 2007 which provided some enforced structure and input, Stephen then went on to pursue the areas which have always captured his imagination – the light, colour, shape and texture of the Australian natural environment. In 2015 he took the step of leaving regular employment to work full-time at his art.
Stephen’s paintings often include warm and inviting depictions of Waratahs and Gymea Lillies as well as other native Australian flora.
