The Combined Art Societies of Sydney’s  ‘Art at the Royal’ Exhibition will run from 11th until 27th October 2024 at the Royal Art Society of NSW, Lavender Bay Gallery, 25-27 Walker Street, North Sydney 2060! 

Explore a diverse collection of extraordinary works from award-winning artists and top finalists!
The award presentation will be on Friday, 11th October from 6pm to 9pm. 

Exhibition hours will be from 10am to 4pm on Monday to Friday, and from 11am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

CASS at the Royal Art Society Exhibition, 10th-27th Aug 2023

at the Royal Art Society Exhibition
10th – 27th August 2023

The Combined Art Societies of Sydney will be coming to the Royal Art Society Exhibition this August. 

Exhibition dates will be from 10th-17th August at 10am-4pm on Monday – Friday, and 11am-4pm on Saturday & Sunday.

The address is Lavender Bay Gallery, 25-27 Walker Street, North Sydney 2060. 

The exhibition will feature award-winning artists and finalists from the Art of Sydney Exhibition held at the Prince Henry Centre Little Bay last March. 

There will also be a celebration & afternoon tea on Saturday, 12th August from 1pm – 3pm.

Hawkesbury City Council – Waste 2 Art 2019

Hawkesbury City Council’s ‘Waste 2 Art’ Competition
is still open for primary school age children!

This is a great activity for kids to take part in with artworks being exhibited at the Hawkesbury Central Library during Government Week from Monday, 29th July ’til Sunday, 4th August 2019.

Waste 2 Art Competition focuses on 3Rs of waste hierarchy: reuse, reduce and recycle to specifically show how students can give waste a new purpose by transforming it into a creative artwork.

The artwork may be either 2D or 3D and must follow the competition guidelines.

Our next Yarramundi Open Day is on Wednesday 20th Feb from 10am to 4pm.

As we have our new venue still pending, members and guests are invited to come and enjoy Yarramundi with inspirational surrounds for painting, sketching, watching art DVD’s or any medium.

Come along with like minded art enthusiasts and share interests while learning more about art and the artists in our area.

Morning and afternoon tea is provided. Bring your own lunch.

Monthly Meeting & Demonstration 12th February – Deidre Morrison – Acrylic Pouring and Resin

We are very happy to have Deidre Morrison with us to demonstrate Acrylic Pouring and Resin at our first monthly meeting for 2019, Tuesday 12th February, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

For the Acrylic Pouring Deidre will demonstrate how to combine acrylic paint and mediums to be able to watch the cells on your masterpiece come to life. Explore fun and addictive techniques of ‘dirty pours’, ‘flip cups’ and ‘puddle pours’.

The Art Resin is a safe and easy to use, wonderfully creative medium that anyone can use to get amazing results every time. It can be used to enhance and decorate many different surfaces and items such as art canvases, cheese boards, coasters, trays and furniture.

Deidre Morrison is an artist and an art teacher. She holds a Diploma in Art Education and co-owns Richmond Art Supplies, the Art Shop in the main street of Richmond NSW.

Deidre is proficient with many mediums – oils, watercolour, acrylics, pastel, pencil, charcoal, screen-prints, drawing, illustration, murals, posters, print making, printed cloth, greeting cards and crafting.

Deidre runs regular workshops in Acrylic Pouring and Resin techniques at Richmond Art Supplies.

Both members and non members are welcome to join us for our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.

Entry is $5 for MTAS members and visitors (includes supper)

The 29th Combined Arts Societies of Sydney “Art of Sydney” Awards is on again from 23rd to 27th January 2019.

The Art of Sydney Awards is an annual celebration showcasing the wonderful diversity of Sydney’s leading local artists and features over 300 artworks from 14 Art Societies around Sydney and the Wider Sydney Basin.

Admission is FREE

Where: Australian National Maritime Museum, The Terrace Room, Darling Harbour

Presentation of Awards: Saturday afternoon, 28th January, 2019 – 2pm to 4pm – Terrace Room, Australian National Maritime Museum
