Artist Talks & A Little Art Making – Saturday, 23rd November 2024

Join artist Dan Kyle and Hawkesbury Now 2024 artists Julie Simmons and Mellissa Read-Devine this Saturday, 23rd November for a conversation about their artwork in this year’s exhibition.

You are invited to bring along your sketchbook as Julie and Mellissa lead creative drawing exercises, while enjoying drinks and light refreshments. Tickets are free.

The Hawkesbury Now Exhibition opens tonight, 25th October, from 6pm to 8pm, and will continue until Sunday, 1st December 2024!

The exhibition will be held at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, located on the 1st floor of the Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street, Windsor, NSW. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm on weekdays, and 10am to 3pm on weekends.

Entry is free, and light refreshments will be provided on the opening night.

Hawkesbury Art Fair 2022

Opening night for the Hawkesbury Art Fair exhibition is tonight! 23rd September at 6pm – 8pm and the exhibition will continue until 23rd October 2022. Light refreshments provided.

Our MTAS Artists from MTAS in this year’s exhibition are Mark Wilson, Maryanne Jones, Virginia Wheatley, Sue Gasser, Melody Tallon, Sue Rea and Elaine Foulsham.

A range of organisations are showcased in the Art Fair and include the Macquarie Towns Arts Society, Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop, Piggery Lane Studios, Hawkesbury Artists and Artisans Trail and more.

It is an opportunity for local artists to exhibit and sell their work. Residents and visitors to the area can buy original art from the region’s best-known accomplished and up-and-coming artists.

The Hawkesbury Show is on again 10th – 12th May!

Entries for the Art Section have to be returned by Thurs 18th April at the Showground office, by post or email. See the Entry Forms and schedules for details by clicking: here

Delivery to the Showground
Fri 3rd May, 10 – 4pm
Sat 4th May, 9 – 11am
Volunteers are needed to help hang the display on Sat 4th May, 11am until finished.

Lunch is supplied.

We will need volunteers for Duty at the Show in the Art Pavilion:
Fri 10th May: 10am – 1pm, 1 – 4pm, 4 – 7pm, 7 – 9pm(ish)
Sat 11th: 10am – 1pm, 1 – 4pm, 4 – 7pm, 7 – 9pm(ish)
Sun 12th: 10am – 1pm, 1pm – 4pm, collection 4 – 6pm

You are given 1 free Entry to the show for your Duty.

We are also looking for Art Demonstrators
On Saturday & Sunday there is an opportunity to paint/draw as a demonstrator in a small space in the display area in front of the Craft. Challenge yourself and paint in front of the public!
Sat 10am – 12noon, 12 – 2pm, 2 – 4pm
Sun 10am – 12noon, 12 – 2pm

You are given 1 free Entry to the show as a Demonstrator.

Please note *important*: You will need to carry in your equipment from where you park as you will not be allowed to drive in near the Art Pavilion on those days while the show is on.

Hawkesbury Art Fair opening Friday 8th Sept to 8th Oct

Macquarie Towns Art Society has some entries in the Hawkesbury Art Fair at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery.

You are invited from 6pm on Friday 8 September for the opening of fourth annual Hawkesbury Art Fair by Deputy Mayor of Hawkesbury, Clr Barry Calvert.

This once-a-year event is when the gallery becomes a showcase for the wealth of creativity  in our beautiful region. It’s also an opportunity for local artists to sell their work, and for you to buy original art from some of the region’s most accomplished and collectible artists.

Drinks and refreshments will be served (bar opens 6pm). Family-friendly function; children welcome.

Runs from 8th September to 8th October.
